Beach Fun!

We are trying to take advantage of the beautiful beaches that we are so lucky to have a mile from our house! It has been so hot lately that an evening after work was the perfect time!

Bryce and Beaker both LOVE the beach. Bryce loves chasing seagulls, digging in the sand, running into the water and just getting dirty!! This year is so different than last year! Last year at the beach, he couldnt even crawl and just sat there in the sand shoveling sand in his mouth!! We love seeing him play out here!!

Well, you probably know that our computer died on us unexpectedly a few weeks ago, but thanks to my cousins in Austin, I was atleast able to get ALL of my pictures and videos from the hard drive, which was all that I wanted! Lesson learned, keep up with your back ups!! I need to find a more efficient way of doing it because all that I had been doing was copying pictures to cds and it took forever and I only had up until maybe Christmas backed up. I was soooo heartbroken to think that I may lose so many precious pictures and videos, but things worked out!!

So we used birthday money, saved money and a lot of research and bought a new computer to get on with our bad computer habit and we can share our lives again!

It amazes me how much can happen in 18 months!!
Bryce shocks me every day with something new that he does. He loves to blow kisses and wave bye bye, loves to wear my flip flops around the house, tortures beaker and the cats, has an endless amount of energy! We did have to put a lock on the refrigerator because he was opening it up an bringing things to us. I'm just hoping he didnt hide anything!

Time sure does fly! Bryce is becoming a little man right before our eyes!! Every day he surprises me with something new!

Of course he has been walking since 11 months old, but he can run faster than I can now, does not want to be carried anywhere, unless he just really wants to be held!

Our newest and scariest adventure is him climbing everything. He has to stand on every chair or table he sees. He isn't happy unless he is at the top! What amazes me is how he get to the places he does, he is so smart to figure out how to get places he wants to go!

He also wants to feed himself with a spoon or fork now, which is so fun to see, but not so fun to clean up! Thank goodness for Beaker the cleanup crew!

We are still lagging in the speech department, of course 'mama' 'dada', Beaker is 'Dough' most things are 'doo' and his FAVORITE word is "UH - OH!!" That is so cute!

He loves blowing kisses and puckering up for kisses, but only when he is in the mood!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is our new favorite show, Little Einsteins is still up there, but when Mickey is on, nothing else can happen!!

We went to Harlingen to see my mom and family this last weekend and went to the big stock show down there and Troys new hunting lease! Bryce loved every minute of being outside!

Time For Beach Fun!!

The weather around here has actually been very pleasant lately, so we decided to go camping down the National Seashore a couple of weekends ago! Bryce had so much fun! He loves the sand and water and just being outside.

Now I love camping, but in the mountains... not so much the beach. But it was a fun family activity where there were not a whole lot of distractions!

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a great Valentines weekend! Saturday Tim and I went to a local Bar and Grill for a romantic dinner of chips and salsa and then a hockey game!! It was nice getting to spend that time together doing something we enjoy!

Although he did get me a day of a massage and mani / pedi at a local spa!!! I am really excited! It has been so long since I have been pampered like that! I cant wait for it!

Then on Sunday, we went to a friends house for the Daytona 500 and a BBQ! Bryce made a new friend, who is 5 years old. He followed this boy all around all afternoon long! It was so cute!!

This was HUGE around our house!! I almost thought Tim was going to fall over dead!

Here are some new pictures from the last couple of days! Not a whole lot new to report around here, we did get a new sofa though and we are pretty excited about it!! Nothing fancy and will hopefully stand up for a couple of years!! But it is pretty comfy!!

I am just now getting to put up pictures from Christmas and my great friend Jeanennes wedding!! I am slacking!! Santa came to see Bryce and he was good to him!! We stayed here in Corpus for Christmas and went to Harlingen for New Years and Jeanennes wedding. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding! Jeanenne if you are reading this, you did an amazing job!!

We took Bryce to see Santa today with dreams of him sitting in Santas lap and talking to him and getting great pictures... We were wrong! We finally got our turn to see Santa put Bryce in his lap and Bryce looked at him and just screamed bloody murder! He wasn't having any of it, so we decided to get in the picture, Tim held him and I got to see in Santas lap (poor Santa)! Things worked out for the best and we did get a great picture!!

1 Year Old Tomorrow!!

1 year ago today was the absolute longest day of my entire life!!

I knew exactly what was going to happen the next day... my son was going to be born!

After spending last November 23 shopping and walking around trying to calm my nerves, we ate at On The Border restaurant (not the best choice by the way for someone who is 9 months pregnant FYI!) We came home and everyone went to sleep but me, I did not sleep for more than 1 hour total. I knew I couldn't eat after midnight, so i stuffed myself with more food and soda, then had the WORST case of heartburn ever and was still suffering from a horrible cold and could not breathe through my nose! It was the most miserable I have ever been in my entire life!! I cried on my way to work just thinking about this day, I knew my life was going to change big time and for the better, but I had a lot of fears of 1. major abdominal surgery while being awake 2. actually having a child and wondering if I was going to be a good mom!

I spent 9 months dreaming of what Bryce looked like, what his personality was going to be like and what if was going to feel like to hold him in my arms finally and I KNEW I was going to get to do it tomorrow!

He is everything I ever dreamed of and more!!

We visited the local pumpkin patch today with Marley, Ashley and Grammy Linda! Bryce was not to sure about the pumpkins, but he did love the straw and grass!

11 Months Old!!

This boy is growing up way too fast! I know that I say that every month, but it is so true! He is standing on his own very well. He is trying to take his first steps, but when he tries to step out, he falls. So I'm sure it wont be much longer! I am excited but scared at the same time!

He now refuses to eat with a spoon or let anyone else feed him. He HAS to feed himself... which is limiting our options, but we are learning!! Any ideas anyone? Oh such an independent boy!

It was a beautiful day out so I opened the dining room windows and he could stand there looking outside for hours! He loves it!
He has finally caught Pumpkin. I am not sure how Pumpkin feels about this, but she just lays there while he tortures her. I do intervene, but this one time I had to get a picture!

Tons of Pictures and Flu Update!

So I am working on editing our pictures! I think I am getting the hang of it, but finding time to do it while chasing around a 10 month old is a little hard!

We have been SUPER busy around here! 2 weeks ago we were in Shreveport, LA for Tims brother Jeff and Ashley's wedding. Then we came home for a couple of days for work, then off to Harlingen for my cousin Erin and Emmett's wedding!

The Sunday night that we came home from that, Bryce started to not feel good, Monday he would not eat or drink and was definitely sick, I got him to the pediatricians office first thing Tuesday morning and they thought it might be strep. So they tested him for that and just in case did the swab for Influenza A and B. The lab was a little backed up because the office was packed. I got home and they called saying that he DID test positive for Influenza A and that they called in Tamiflu to our pharmacy and if he doesn't eat or drink soon, to get him back in for an IV to get him hydrated. Luckily Wednesday night he started to get slowly better and today is almost back to himself! It is no fun having a baby with the flu! It is so scary! But God was watching out for him!

We are going to enjoy staying at home this weekend!

9 Month Check Up!!

We went for Bryces 9 month check up last week and as always wowed the doctor!
Here are his stats : 23.9 lbs 90th percentile
30 inches tall 90th percentile
I dont remember what his head circumfrence was, but it was off the charts. The doctor said that it is just full of brains!!

He has finally gotten his first two front teeth in!! YAY!! They are soooo cute!
He now says DaDa... I dont know why, MaMa does all the work! Just kidding! But here are some pictures from the last week!

I am amazed at how fast he is growing up. No longer is he that infant that just layed there and slept in my arms for hours and made little cooing noises. Now he does not sit still. It is a feat just trying to change a diaper, put clothes on ( the boy LOVES to be naked ) and no longer is there just laying in bed cuddling unless its bed time and then he is not still! He is constantly on the move!

His new favorite game is to stand up and try to climb in my lap so that I pick him up just for him to arch his back and slide back down! He could do this for hours!

He has to pull himself up to stand on everything! It's exciting to see everything from a new perspective!!

We finally got a little bit of rain here in Corpus Christi! Bryce loved watching the rain out the window.

The big news here is that he is finally getting his two bottom teeth. Or for those of us in dentistry letters 'o' and 'p'!! It has made him fairly miserable, but he looks so cute! As soon as he lets me, I'll take a picture! I'm so excited! The dental hygienists son is getting his first teeth! I'm gonna go get him his first toothbrush!

Some sad sad news... our camera finally died on us the other night. I was distraught! But we are borrowing a camera so we don't miss a moment!! I have the cutest baby on earth!! Well, maybe I'm a little biast!! Bryce and I went to Harlingen this weekend to see everyone there and I also had to get a bridesmaids dress for a friends wedding coming up. So it was a weekend full of fun! While we were down there, Tim and Beaker stayed behind and had a mans bachelor weekend here at home!

Bryce is getting so smart, he has learned how to put balls into the holes where they are suppossed to go in toys and down the little slides. He LOVES doing this!

He is also now a master at crawling on all fours, stands himself up into a triangle position ( like he just wants to stand up!) and has started pulling himself up on things!

He started talking a little, he will say 'gagagaga' and has been heard to say 'dada' a couple of times.

Beaker and Bryce really have become buddies!
They love to play together! Beaker is very gentle, although Bryce is not!

There is not a whole lot of news around here!! We've all had an icky bug, but we're doing much better now!! Bryce got to go to his first baseball game 2 weeks ago! There is a pool/BBQ area in the outfield area of our baseball stadium and my work rented it out for us and our families! It was a great time, even though I dont think we really watched any of the game!

Bryce is crawling all over the place, he is quick! He is starting crawling on hands and knees instead of his army crawl, he knows where he wants to go and just goes! Nothing is out of reach for him! He also can sit up all by himself from laying down/crawling. He learned this very quickly! It is amazing how fast this stuff happens! I will post some videos when I get them uploaded!

My world has just changed in a very big way the last few days... Bryce can crawl and that is all he wants to do!!! Not only does he crawl, he is fast, a lot faster than I ever thought! Our living room has toys all over the place, but he does not want those, they are old news. He wants Beakers toys, bones and yes, his dog dish and the cats scratch post! When I have a moment to upload it, I have a video of this!

Daddy and Bryce went skinny dipping in the canal behind grammys house, well, Bryce skinny dipped, Tim wore a swim suit! I will allow this again once he is wearing floaties or his life vest, but this boy is a fish, he LOVES the water!

It is kinda blurry, but he was in the process of playing a beautiful song for me! I bet you didnt know that Bryce is a concert pianist!!

Mr. Bryce is growing up way too fast, I need to put this to a stop, I love to see him hit all of these milestones and be able to do the things he does, but I am also sad, it just means he is getting closer and closer to not needing me around!!

First Beach Trip!

Even though we live 2 miles from the beach, Bryce had not been yet because of weather and just waiting until he was a little older, well, we went the other night and he had a blast!! He first decided to shovel sand in his mouth (which he loved) and then we moved to a still pool of water that was only a few inches deep and sat in it, where he splashed in that water for a long time and did NOT want to get out! We have some video and I will get it uploaded here soon!!

Bryce has never liked a pacifier until last weekend when we were having a yard sale at moms and he saw cousing Layla with hers and he felt the need to rip it from her mouth and put it in his own! But it made for some really cute pictures!!

Tim is doing great recovering from surgery! He is up and moving around and I have to remind him to slow down before he hurts himself and it takes longer to recover. Things are going great!

Sorry it has been a while! We were with out internet for a little while, but we are back up and running!!

Bryces Dr. appt went great! He always amazes Dr. McNeil. He was 20.8 lbs and just over 27 inches long. I asked the doctor where he fit on the charts and he said of course at the very top and if he stays his exact size when he is 1 year old, he will be right on track, so that is always good to hear! He is still happy and healthy and only good news at the visit!

It has been pretty boring around here, although last night we did go to Shrimporee in Aransas Pass last night and got to see Johnny Lee (The Urban Cowboy). It was so much fun, Tim and I saw Johnny Lee back in 2006 at Gilleys in the Frontier Hotel and Casino and partied with him and his band into the wee hours of the morning with him back then. We had our pictures taken with him then and last night I took a picture from that night with us and got him to autograph it and took a new picture with him! My how things have changed!!

First Hair Cut and Boat Ride!

We got to go for the maiden voyage of Grammy and Grampys boat monday afternoon, it was a full boat! There was Jim, Linda, Tim, Me, Bryce, Jeff, Ashley, Marley, Beaker, Rocky and Taz. We had a blast!

I felt like I could pass out when I realized how short it was, but it is perfect! He looks like such a little man, this is a view from the back...

He turned six months old on sunday, it is so hard to believe! Thursday is his six month check up and shots, so I'll post the stats after that!

Mothers Day

I had a great mothers day! We were in Harlingen with my family and got to see baby Layla.
Tim got me a pretty necklace with a little boy figure that has Bryces birthstone in it and can be added to with other children! I love it!! I hope all of the other mothers out there had a great mothers day too!!

On May 7 my niece Layla Olivia Gonzalez was born! She was 7.5 lbs and 20 inches long with a full head of dark hair! She is absolutely beautiful! Needless to say my mom and sister got the perfect mothers day present!!

No Longer A Baby

I was posting the rest of this with Bryce in his swing next to me and I look over and this is what I saw. I really have no words!

So I also posted a couple of other shots from today!

So I guess I officially no longer have a baby, I have a child! It is so not fair and happened waaaaayyyy too fast!

He is sitting up by himself, is officially grown out of his infant carseat and in a big boy carseat, started sleeping in his crib in his own room, walks in his walker up and down the kitchen, is working on crawling and is in size 12 month clothes. How did this happen?!?!

I went to a dental convention last week for work and care credit was giving out big orange foam cowboy hats (only in Texas). I needed to get my boy one!

Here's a few pictures from the last couple of weeks!! We sure have been busy. PawPaw Dennis and Uncle Jake were in town, a hockey game that Tim won with our local team, Sandcastle days on the beach and the Airshow with the Blue Angels! It has been so fun getting to do this stuff as a family and Bryce's firsts!

He is growing up so fast, I know I keep repeating that, but it just blows my mind how quick time has flown by and how much he grows daily!! He is getting good at walking in his walker... unfortunately, the only place he can do this at our house is in our kitchen. He loves to drive his car! He always stops by the oven and stares at the baby in there looking at him! We are working on sitting up by ourselves. He hates sitting, everytime you try to get him to sit, whether the carseat or in your lap he stiffens up like a board, I have heard stories that Tim did the same thing.. like father like son!

He also LOVES to talk, laugh, blow bubbles and razzies now. I'm working on getting it all on video to post it.

I apologize in advance for being so long!!

We hope everyone has had a great Easter weekend!! It was great here, Bryce and Marleys PawPaw Dennis has been in town from Hawaii this last week and it has been great getting to see them together!!

4 Months Old!!!

Where does time go? It is crazy to me that Bryce is already 4 months and 1 week old! I know it has been a while since I've posted anything, but we have been pretty sick around here! All three of us got whatever bug that was that went around. It is no fun being sick yourself and taking care of a sick baby!! He was a trooper though. Thank goodness all he wanted to do was sleep most of the time and his cough medicine the doctor prescribed allowed him to do just that! I got bronchitis and Tim was not feeling well either, not a fun house!! But we're all getting better!

Tim and I also celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on March 17 St. Patties Day! We had plans to go out to a nice dinner, we had a couple of sitters... but unfortunately that was the day I woke up feeling like a 500 pound man was sitting on me and crawled to the doctors office even before they were open. Needless to say, luckily Linda was able to take Bryce for the day and night and Tim just made us dinner. Not exactly as planned, but very nice and memorable! Luckily I was feeling a little better by the evening, the doctor gave me a good steroid shot to help me breathe and I took a sleeping pill to help sleep most of the day! Bryce got to party the night away with Jim and Linda at a St. Patricks day party!

So obviously we've spent quite a bit of time in the doctors office the last couple of weeks, for the emergency trip when Bryce had his little fall, when he started a fever and then his 4 month check up and shots. He is just barely under 18 pounds and 27 inches long! The doctor said he is still above average for his age.

I am still in amazment at how much he has grown up!

So get ready for lots of pictures here! By the way, It is really hard to keep a 4 month old still for pictures!

Bryce and Marley had a lunch date at TGI Fridays last week. I love how they'll just stare at eachother and try and figure it out!

His new fascination is his toes and feet. He bent himself foward, was holding his foot, sucking his fingers and watching tv all at the same time. Now that is talent!

So the first baby food we tried was carrots, he liked them alright. I just love the face though!

We were shopping at Old Navy ( my new favorite place for clothes for him!) and we found the cutest hat!

Again, has to hold his feet and watch tv!

Yes, I am from the NKOTB times, though I was a younger fan, I was a devoted follower and had everything to do with them and was devestated when they called it quits, last year, I heard the rumors on the internet and hoped they were true and YES they were true, they reunited, made a new cd and were going on tour! I thought I missed my chance to see them in late october in San Antonio, I was very pregnant and did not have the money to get there. I was sad, but life would go on.

Then my sister Amy text messaged me one morning that they were going to be at Borderfest the first weekend of March in the valley. I knew my dreams had come true! So for my birthday, mom bought me and Amy tickets to go to the concert. It was everything I had ever dreamed of. They were as hot as ever! They did some of their new stuff that I love, but they did old stuff that brought back memories of me dancing in my bedroom to their cassette tapes!! I probably embarrased amy with my screaming and singing and dancing, but I dont care, I had a blast!! Sadly and I dont know why, Tim did not want to go, I guess he just wasnt a fan! Thank you mom for a great present!
And you will never guess how much this tshirt cost... 45 freakin' dollars! But I had to have it!

Most of you know we have two girl kitties that we got when I moved to Las Vegas, Pumpkin and Whiskey, they are our first children. They dont take up a lot of the spotlight because they like to stay to themselves most of the time, Beaker thinks that they were put on earth just for him to chase, (even though they were here first! But lately, they have been more comfortable around Bryce and Beaker has found them not so fun to chas lately. They are so loving to eachother most of the time and I just happend to catch a loving moment of them cleaning eachother today! Oh so sweet sisters!!
Bryce is just growing up so fast that I dont know what to think! He will rollover front to back and back to front, laughs, talks to us in his own language, can amuse himself, sleeps 8-9 hours a night! I am just in awe of all of the transformations in such a little amount of time!

I don't know if you knew this or not, but Bryce is a genius and a scholar! He loves to read!

He decided he wanted to hold his own bottle the other day.

Unfortunately the man who kind enough to take our picture, cut off the horse, BUT Bryce got to meet the Budweiser Clydesdales at Borderfest in the valley last weekend!

I got this toy for $10! What a steal!

We knew he was tired from our trip to Shreveport when he fell asleep while playing!

He somehow got his arm up the pillowcase and started sucking on it! How he manages this stuff I dont know!

Here are some pictures from the last few days!! We are leaving for Shreveport friday after work so Bryce can meet lots more family, so we will have a ton of new pictures then I'm sure!! Enjoy!

This boy LOVES his bathtime, he just lays there and relaxes like I would do at the spa! I am so glad that he enjoys it because I like a clean baby!! And yes I do give him a bath in his bathtub inside our bathtub... dont judge me!! I am too short to reach up on the counters and too afraid to drop him from there!!

I put together his little car walker the other day, his feet touch the ground, but he doesnt know what to do with it yet, it is just so cute though!

And finally, the six of us went to the Ice Rays hockey game last weekend, it was so cute to see Tim and Jeff walking in in front of me and Ashley with their babies strapped to their chest and hockey jerseys and all. To support our team, Marley and Bryce wore their Ice Rays onsies. Not too long from now they'll be yelling obscenities with their daddys!

It is official... Bryce is growing up waaaaaaaaay too fast!! He rolled all the way over for the first time today!! For the last couple of days he has been getting up on his side and laying there but couldnt actually get all the way over, today, thats all he has wanted to do once he figured it out!! I lay him on his back, a couple of minutes later, he is on his tummy. I swear he'll be crawling next week if I didnt know any better!! Up above a little video that I took of him, he had already gotten up on his side but you get the idea!! I think I am going to post a different video of him there once a week or something now that I have figured out a way to get a video up!!

Tim, Wade and Troy and some of their friends went camping on the National Seashore this weekend and Tim caught the biggest catch of the weekend!! A blacktip shark that was 5'9" long!! His first large shark! I wish I was there to see how happy he was!! I am so proud of him, now he is part of an elite club!! I'm just glad though that it didnt bite any appendages off!!

2 Months Old!!

Little man Bryce is 2 months old already!! Time really does fly by. He is such a big boy now that it is unreal! He smiles and laughs, loves to sit up and pay attention to us (or us pay attention to him!) I was watching the dvd from when he was born and just cried and wondered where my little baby was! He is such a special boy!

We went for his 2 month check up and immunizations this week... He was 14lb 4oz and 24 1/2 inches long!! It's no wonder we have to wear 6-9 month pajamas!! He is healthy and happy! I think he took his shots better than mommy and grandma did tho. The darned nurse scratched his poor leg with one of the needles, not cool. Luckily, he didnt have any bad reactions and was just sleepy for a couple of days. But boy he let them know he wasnt happy about being stuck with a bunch of needles!

I also did start back to work and it was HARD to be away from him! Although I know it is good for the both of us, I find myself talking about him to my patients and co workers all day and I am sure they are sick of it, but I can't help myself! Each day gets a little easier, but I run out of that office the second I am able to to get home! I do wish that it were possible for me to stay at home with him everyday, but we do what we gotta do!!

Also, since I havnt been very good at posting, I havnt posted about Tims birthday either!! He turned 36 last saturday and we went to lunch at the Port A Brewery and later that night mom babysat while we went out for a night out on the town!! What a difference a year makes, for his birthday last year, we were at the Playboy Club at the Palms Hotel and Casino till the wee hours of the morning, this year, we were at home by 10 pm and ready for bed!! Boy we're getting old! I wouldnt trade it for anything though!

Bryce is just growing like a weed!! He is becoming a little boy and not my little baby anymore! He loves to be awake and to see everything that is going on and loves to watch tv! He has started to smile last week, but we have yet to capture that on film yet.

On a sad note though, I have to return to work on friday. I wish with all I've got that I didnt have to, but I do. But I am fortunate enough to have the best sitters around! My mom and Linda are going to be taking turns watching him so I know that he is going to be in very good hands, which makes this slightly easier. I have dreaded this moment from the second he was born, I'm sure it will become easier every day! They hopefully know that they will have to come meet me for lunch every day!!!

1 Month Old!!

YAY!! So Bryce turned one month old on Christmas Eve!! I know the post is a little late, but we've been a little busy!! We had a great Christmas, Bryce took his first trip to Harlingen to see my family. He got to go with us to the Christmas eve service at church and got to show off to everyone there!! They were impressed!! Then we came back to corpus saturday and had another great christmas here!! He has had a lot of fun getting to know his cousin Marley! They are going to be best buds!
This was Bryce and Marley's first meeting in his crib. As you can see, they were very excited!!

Bryce on Christmas morning with his presents, again, he could hardly contain the excitment! Atleast he did wake up for the picture!

The whole family went to the mall on saturday to get our picture taken with santa!! He was a great Santa, even though he tried to steal Bryce!! I promptly informed him that there were grandmas standing at the exit ready to pounce!! Bryce was so excited again that he slept right through his first encounter with Santa! I didnt do a very good job scanning the picture, but I think you get the idea!! I cant wait till next year when he knows what is going on!!

Here are new pictures!! Bryce is now one week and 2 days old and stays awake a little bit longer, is opening his eyes more and checking us all out!! He is so beautiful and the biggest love of my life, I never knew this much love was possible!

We're home from the hospital!! It's amazing how wonderful it is to sleep in your own bed and shower in your own shower! But the biggest difference is how your house now feels like a wonderful home with your son in it!!!

If you didnt see the stats he was born on Monday November 24 at 12:39 pm and weighed 10lbs 10 oz and has a head full of beautiful hair!!! I have a couple of pictures on the computer and I will put more up as I get them on here! For obvious reasons, I've been a little pre occupied! Hope you enjoy!!

That is going to be Bryces birthday!! This chunky monkey is 9 1/2 lbs according to the ultrasound today! He is such a chunky boy it was funny!! The tech let us watch his face for a little while and he started sucking on his hand and sticking his tongue out at us!! We could see he has this fat crease on his forehead!! I cant wait to meet him on monday!! We tried to talk the doctor into scheduling for this friday, but he already had a day full of surgeries. So, next post should be pictures of our little boy!!!

1 More Week!!

We went for our doctor appointment today and he wants one more ultrasound on wednesday and we will set the day for the c section then!!!! It will be anywhere from the 20th to the 25th!! He doesnt want to do it any later so that we can be home for thanksgiving! I really didnt want to spend thanksgiving in the hospital! It is absolutely insane to think that for sure in less than 2 weeks he will be here, in our arms!! I truly cant wait to finally meet our little boy who has been living inside me for so long, to see what he looks like, what his personality is and just to stare at him and hold him!

Bryce Updates!!

Even though he probably won't sleep in it for a few weeks, I have finally got his crib decorated! It has a drawer underneath with sheets and blankets in it that Beaker has decided is a comfy quiet place for him to rest in here!!
I got these letters from Michaels Craft store and painted them with the same paint Tim used on the dresser with some blue plaid ribbon and hung his name up above the dresser!!

So now for the updates!! We went in for the ultrasound on friday morning and they estimated him to be 7 lbs 10 oz that day, it could be off by a little, but they said they're pretty accurate! The tech actually told us that when she saw me she thought I would be all water, but I surprised her when she saw thats all baby in this ginormous belly!

Right afterwards, we went to see the doctor and he explained to us that Bryce is a fat baby, his head is measuring a week a head which was nothing to worry about, but his belly already was measuring 40 weeks at 36 and that he was worried about Bryce getting stuck when being born. He went on to say that he will willing to deliver normally but there are going to be risks if he does get stuck, he will be able to get him out, but with possible damage to Bryces nerves or collar bone. (shoulder dystocia). Our other option is to schedule a c - section.

I did want to avoid a c-section because I was afraid of recovery and having a newborn and how was I going to be able to handle everything, but after a lot of thought and prayers and talking to a couple of women who have had c-sections recently, we have decided to go ahead and schedule it. I am very lucky to have family so close and so willing to help out. I could not myself take the risk of anything happening to our son during birth just because I didnt want to have surgery. Even if the risk of a shoulder dystocia and palsy is not high, it was still there.

So we go back this friday to let him know what we want to do and set the date, hopefully for the end of next week or beginning of the next! So the next post you see, we will know when Bryces birthday will be! I cant wait!!

Here are the couple of pictures they took during the ultrasound, poor thing is so squished in there, it is no wonder I have acid reflux 24/7! The first and last pictures are face pictures and with the middle one, I had them make sure he was indeed a boy!! (I got paranoid when I saw a baby story the other day and they were told it was a boy and turned out to be a girl!!)

I have been trying to upload the short little video she took that shows his chubby legs and belly and feet, but I havnt quite figured it out yet! But soon we'll have the real thing which is much better!

New Hair Style!

Well, as I left to go get my hair done on sunday Beaker and his daddy were watching the saints game hoping for a win, but sadly, it was a terrible loss!! I am glad I wasn't at home for that!

After Halloween mom and I found a cute costume for Beaker at Target for 2 dollars! He makes the cutest little piggy!

And here's the new hair! I went to a friend of mine and told her to do what she wanted as long as it was easy to take care of and this is what happened! Short and Red! I love it!

New Shower Pictures!!

Sorry it has been over a week since the shower and I haven't posted any pictures!! We haven't had internet service and I just got it back up today! So here are some pictures!! The shower was amazing, we had a lot of people show up and mom did a great job!! I had a blast and think everyone else did too! Thank you to Mom and Mamo for putting everything together and inviting everyone and thank you to Amy and Matt for letting us take over your house!!

Here was a picture at 34 and a half weeks... You can see in most of these pictures I am absolutely shocked at how much one body can stretch. He needs to come out soon! He is getting his eviction notice after the doctors appointment this week!

Here is a picture of the travel system that Tims aunts and uncles got for us!! We cant thank you guys enough! It is great to not have to worry about getting the carseat and everything! I cant wait to put the carseat in!! It will be so weird driving around with it! It is mostly green and brown, very neutral so we can use it again! It has a lot of space and all the bells and whistles!!

Here is the pack 'n play that my mama and peewee got us! It matches the travel system. This is where Bryce is going to sleep right next to us for a little while, it has the bassinett part and when he grows out of that you can just take it out and put the mat on the bottom and regular play pen! It has a changing table attatched and a sun visor for if we take it outside!

I sat down in a chair at Amys house and realized that I wasnt going to be able to get back up! But it was comfy while I was sitting!

Baby Shower Today!

Today was my baby shower at work! I was so excited that the girls there did all of this for me! I almost cried, but didn't, I needed to save some of my dignity! We got some great essentials! Some diapers, wipes, onsies and the cutest and tiniest little tennis shoes!! I love them! We ate sandwiches and chips and then the grand finale, mmmm.... cupcakes!! One of the other hygienists also made those cute little booties to hold some snacks!! I wore actual clothes to work for the special occasion, instead of my scrub pants and tshirt (regular scrubs dont fit anymore, so I have to improvise!!)

This weekend is my shower in Harlingen and I cant wait!!

New Updates!

I went back to the doctor today for 34 week visit and of course Bryce is still measuring big, well to be exact, He was measuring 39 weeks today. Soo.... the doctor has scheduled an ultrasound for November 7 to get a more accurate idea on how big he is and to get a plan going on when and how Bryce is going to get out into this world to meet us! Of course at the visit, his heartbeat sounded great and strong and he is constantly on the move in his current home, just seems to be running out of room quickly and has moved into my ribs!

I've been also working on his room a little bit, it is starting to look like a baby is going to live here soon!! This weekend is our baby shower in Harlingen, I am really looking foward to that! I will of course post pictures afterwards!!

It's Been A While!

I know, I know! I've fallen behind on my blogging duties, but there hasn't been too much going on!! We've just been working away! Today was another doctor visit and it was a good one! I mentioned to him that I've been having some contractions on and off so he checked and I am not dialated yet (we dont want that for another 4 weeks!!) They are just Braxton hicks and he told me to slow down and take it easy. Bryce is still measuring a couple of weeks ahead, which I could've told you! When the doctor went to listen to his heartbeat, Bryce kept squirming around and would not stay put long enough for us get see how fast his heart is beating! This little booger does not stay still, I am not sure when or if he ever sleeps. But I love it because I know he's doing fine!!

Bryces crib came in this evening and Tim started putting it together right away! It is sooooo beautiful! I can't wait to get the mattress and bedding in it and then the final touch... Bryce!

Dont be alarmed! I took this today before my doctor visit, so this is us at 32 weeks! I cant imagine how much more I can grow! I can hardly move as it is!

Tim, the wonderful husband he is, surprised me at work on monday with flowers just because!! I have the best husband in the world!!!!
Tim and Troy went fishing and camping this weekend down at the national seashore (Tim wanted to get out one last time before Bryce, because he is now no longer allowed to be out of cell phone service range!) and this was the sunrise one morning. Absolutely beautiful!!

What Does It Feel Like?

On the message boards that I keep up with about pregnancy, one girl posted a topic "what does it feel like?" I guess a friend of hers that wanted to get pregnant asked her this question about what it feels like to be pregnant. This got me thinking, I had always wondered the same thing before, while thinking about what it feels like, it reminded me how lucky I am to be having Bryce, even with all of the aches and pains an being sick, to know that he is on his way soon and every movement that he makes, no matter what time of day or what I'm doing or how much it hurts, is wonderful.

I had just always assumed I guess that it would be easy first of all, to get pregnant, second to stay pregnant and have a happy healthy baby. Because of this, I took it for granted when we first found out about our first pregnancy last year, I quickly learned that there are not always happy endings, there is heartache and pain and you find out more about yourself than you ever thought you would ever know and I found myself in a deep dark place. Thankfully with God and family and friends, and baby Bryce, things are wonderful.

Now... What does it feel like? (to me)

1. Even from the very beginning I felt like I had been run over by a semi truck! Nauseated and just felt icky and had not an ounce of energy.

2. Bloated... I didnt like that, my jeans didnt fit very early on because of this, it was disturbing to me!

3. Emotional... I am usually a pretty emotional person, but now (especially the last couple of weeks! Sorry Tim!) it doesnt take but the slightest thing to make me cry! Whether they are happy or sad or worried tears!! I never knew I could have emotions to so many things!

4. Hunger... wow, I think once 16 weeks came around, I felt like I could not get enough food! I finally wasnt throwing up and felt like human being with some energy and all I could think about was 'what am I going to eat next? or if we were going somewhere am I going to be able to stop and eat?'

5. Crazy... I feel like I am losing my mind at some points during the day. I am usually clumsy and forgetful, but this is just ridiculous! It scares me at work sometimes because I do work with sharp instruments in peoples mouths! But I have become horrible at filling out charts, I need to triple check everything and I still miss stuff!

6. This probably ties into emotions, but worried constantly, it could be anything from 'is this going to hurt Bryce?' to 'am I going to be able to care for this child once he is here?' I am still worried that I wont have a clue what I'm doing when he gets here and I am going to completely mess him up!

7. Painful... it hurts to walk most of the time, my hips hurt like they have been smashed with a sledge hammer, it is probably pretty funny to watch me walk! Also, it hurts to sleep on my sides with out pain, but i cant sleep on my back or stomach, so i just deal!

8. The need to pee constantly (sorry TMI!) is outrageous, now he has his head positioned directly on top of my bladder I think because he just presses as hard as he can and twists his head! At that point, you HAVE to find a bathroom.

9. Lack of sleep... no one tells you this, all you hear about is "try to get as much sleep and rest now before the baby comes" No matter how exhausted I am and I want to sleep, it is hard to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time recently, between the bathroom trips, hip pain and trying to maneuver this big body into a comfortable position in bed. By the time you do fall asleep, its time to wake up for work! Sooooo not fair!!!

Another Good Doctor Visit!!

So I went back to the doctor today for a regular visit. First things first, Bryce is healthy and happy! Yay! His beautiful heartbeat is still nice and strong.

I asked Dr. Pena about the ultrasound results and he said Bryce is just a big boy! Everything looked to be working just fine.

Now by the measurements that they took, the new due date is November 16. Dr. Pena is going to keep an eye on his growth regularly now I guess. I start my every two week appointments now, which is exciting and makes it a little more nerve racking that we're not too far away!

I also took my gestational diabetes test today (not very fun!) Had to drink a very gross sugary drink and wait around an hour for them to draw my blood (which again, not very fun, I am a phlebotamists worst nightmare with my small veins that also roll!) Hopefully I pass!! Keep your fingers crossed!!

So that is the updates that I know of so far!

On another note, lets all keep our fingers crossed that Hurrican Ike does not come our way!!

Beaker was at his grammy Lindas on Thursday afternoon while we were at work. This dog has more toys than he knows what to do with and this is what she caught him doing. Just like a child, all he wants is the box!!

He is just too cute though, you cant tell him no!

Well, the first thing we asked when we walked into that ultrasound room was "Can you tell us if Bryce is a boy or girl?" The tech said if the baby cooperates, we will. Sure enough, first thing Bryce does is show us HIS parts!! I had a very large gut feeling Bryce was a boy, I have had 4 seperate dreams that he was a boy, so it wasnt a huge shock, but it was awesome to get the confirmation!

He looks healthy and happy in there! A very active child! I think some of the coolest moments for me was to be able to see and feel him move at the same time!

He has an absolutely beautiful face, the tech said that he has some chubby cheeks already! Definately takes after daddy! She said that the computer is measuring him about 2 lbs 6oz right now, which is big for this age I guess, but the doctor is going to go over all of the measurements that she took and give us a better idea!

I have a couple of more ultrasound pictures that I will post later tonight. Tim has them with him at work showing off his son! We couldnt be happier about everything right now!!

Ultrasound Finally Scheduled!!!

Yup, you read that right, we finally have an ultrasound scheduled for August 26 at 11 am!

We went in this afternoon for a check up a week early because I haven't been feeling well the last few days and I wanted to just be sure everything was okay and it is, Dr. Pena refilled my inhaler to help my breathing and basically told me to relax some!

But he measured my belly and to all of our surprise (well, I had a feeling) Bryce is a big baby! We are at 24 weeks by all of our calculations, but my uterus is measuring at 31 weeks. So off we're going for an ultrasound just to see if he or she really is a very large baby like his daddy or if something else is going on.

Bryce has also become very active lately, he or she thinks that my insides are a jungle gym and that my bladder and ribs are a punching bag. But my new favorite thing is to lay down and just watch the show that he or she puts on!!

So we're now just hoping that Bryce will show us those parts when the day comes!!

Family Visit!

Two Sundays ago we went to Mom and Jims house for a little grilling for dinner and we got to sit out on the deck and enjoy the breeze. We were also showing off Bryce! This is the most pittiful picture that I have seen in a very long time! After leaving the beach last saturday with Linda, Jim, Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Rick, Beaker wanted to remind all of us who the real baby in the family is! All I was trying to do was keep from getting attacked by a wet and sandy dog!

The six of us went out the next day on the dolphin watch and had a great time! We got to see lots of dolphins, which I dont have pictures of, but there were lots around us!

On Monday night, after work, we met up with everyone again at the beach to enjoy a calm night out! Here we are showing off Bryce again!

Again, the baby of the family for now!! Isnt he adorable though!?

We decided to go for a walk down the beach with Beaker in tow! It was a really fun and relaxing walk.

We Have A Dresser!!

Okay, so this obviously isn't a new dresser, but it's an awfully cute picture of Beaker! We received a new recliner (thank you mamo and peewee!!) when we were in Harlingen last weekend and on the trip back to Corpus Christi, Beaker thought we gave him a birds eye chair to ride up on the entire 2 1/2 hours home!! We seriously have the strangest dog on the planet!

Now on to the dresser!!

My mom was wonderful enough to give us this dresser that was mine when I was young and a friend of hers when she was young, so its like 40 years old!! Just needed some new love and attention and that's what we gave it!
These are the before pictures... Tim then sanded it down to the bare wood and we went to Lowe's and picked the perfect paint out! We didn't need large buckets of paint, so we talked the guy into just selling us a couple of the sample cans with the colors we wanted! Linda was wonderful enough to buy the knobs that we chose!!

Here is the beautiful finished product!! Shiny and new and ready for Bryce's clothes!!

Another Good Dr. Visit!

So, on Friday we went back to see Dr. Pena and everything went well! My blood pressure is nice and low and everything seems to be good! Bryce's heartbeat is still very strong and sounds wonderful, I kinda wish I had one of those dopplers to check in on him here at home!! Unfortunately, he did not order an ultrasound this time, so we're still playing the guessing game on if Bryce is a boy or girl, but it's somewhat fun to me to go back and forth on what I think he or she is. Even though I have my personal idea and gut feeling! We will see if I'm right!

Great Check Up!!

We went to see the doctor today for our check up and everything is still looking good!! We got to hear the beautiful sound of Bryce's heartbeat again, which is nice a strong! We also asked him about a couple of issues about the awful headaches I've been getting lately and the pain in my hip I've had, which is probably Bryce sitting on the sciatic nerve. Tylenol will cure all I guess!! That and the knowledge that it is all for a great cause! The next check up is June 27 and we're hoping that he will find a reason to send us for another ultrasound to see if Bryce is a boy or girl!

Well, here's hoping that this second trimester coming up goes well!!

Our Camping and Fishing Trip!

So last weekend we went camping and shark fishing on the National Seashore with some of Tims co workers and this was the result! Although Tim did not catch it (his friends 16 year old son got this one!) it was still exciting to see the fight this creature brought! She was 5'5" and not happy about anything that was going on, but after some proud pictures and measurements, she went back into the water and went about her night!!

I am finally getting around to posting this pictures for everyone to see (I never used to procrastinate this much!) But here is me and Tims gear.

We Finally Get To See Bryce!

It was absolutely amazing to see him or her!! Bryce is already moving around pretty actively (already takes after daddy!) His (or her) heart is beating at 170 bpm and we got to hear it, it was absolutely beautiful! Bryce is also already just over an inch long at 10 weeks old!! It all was overwhelming and brought tears to our eyes!! I can't wait to get another glimpse of Bryce in a few weeks!! Love at first sight is absolutely amazing!!

Here you can see the arms and legs and is probably just an umbilical cord, but you never know..... :)

1st Ultrasound May 6!!

I went to my doctors appointment today and they just did a routine exam and scheduled me for my first ultrasound on May 6, so there will definately be pictures then! I am so excited an anxious that it is unreal, I was hoping that they would be able to do one today, but they just weren't able to and didnt have an appointment open till then! But I will keep yall posted!

Job News!

We all know that Tims job is going really well. He works with some great people and for a good company and I couldnt be happier for him! But then I have been jobless at the mercy of the State of Texas waiting for my dental hygiene license to come in the mail. Well, I got it in the mail last week finally and went out to look for a job..... Well, I was basically told there's no jobs available, all offices are full and just to work as a substitute which I really didnt want to do! But I got a call friday from an office who found my resume and is looking for a part time hygienist 2 or 3 days a week. Perfect! I had my interview with them today and the office manager is recommending me to the doctor to be hired! So I should have a second interview next week with the doctors and be off to work soon! Things are good here in Texas!

Tims South Padre Fishing Trip

We went to Harlingen this last weekend and Tim, Troy and one of Troys friends went down to South Padre Island to go camping and fishing. Well, they didnt have much luck in the fishing department this trip, but they did catch some sun and some peace of mind!

The water was nice and they got to see some pelicans!

Since they weren't catching any fish, Tim decided to proclaim his love for me in the sand! I thought it was super sweet!

I Just thought I'd share with everyone what it is that Beaker does all day... It must be good to be the dog!! He loves to sleep and sleep HARD! He sleeps over 8 hours a night, before we're asleep and after I've woken up! But, in his defense, he plays hard too. Especially when we were in Vegas and had a doggie park! The best we can do here is take him to grandma and grandpas to play! He is a wonderful dog and I love him!!

So we've decided on a first name which is going to be Bryce (boy and girl) but we're still trying to find a middle name for each. The reason we've chosen Bryce is because of Bryce Canyon in Utah which is close to Zion Nat'l Park where Tim proposed. We couldnt figure a way to put Zion into a name!! Bryce is a beautiful area and takes our breath away and thought it would be fitting! But if anyone has any middle name ideas, throw them out there!! I know we still have quite a long time before we have to be sure about something but you know me, I like to be prepared! Plus its just plain old fun!

Baby News!!

So, the big news around our house is it looks like we're going to have a baby!! We're still very early, 4 weeks, but still very very nauseous. Already went to the doctor to make sure hormone levels are rising like they should be and they definately are! Hopefully soon we'll be able to have ultrasound pictures!!

We are very excited and very nervous and paranoid about everything this time. But all we can do is pray that everything will turn out great now and at the beginning of December, we should have a baby Tim and Steph!! We will keep everyone posted!

We Made It One Year!!

Beaker wasn't too fond of his first trip to the beach.

We made it through our move to South Texas slowly but surely... and also safely!! Beaker rode with daddy in the big boy truck and Pumpkin and Whiskey kitties rode with mommy and uncle Troy in the jeep!

It has been quite a year since we've been married, but the two of us together are strong enough to get through it all!
